Turnbull Restoration Logo and Identity Design

THE BRIEF

Turnbull is a long-established American gunsmith, best known for their expertise in restoring and refinishing classic firearms. Their original logo featured a bull emblem that had become recognizable over time, but the brand needed a modern refresh—something that could elevate their visual identity while preserving their legacy.

The goal was to create a refined, confident logo that could be reproduced cleanly across digital and physical mediums, while also extending the brand through a supporting product catalogue layout that felt structured, timeless, and trustworthy.

THE SOLUTION

I began by modernizing the original bull mark, simplifying the forms and improving balance without losing the core identity. The resulting logomark features sharper geometry, more intentional spacing, and a sturdier silhouette that better reflects the strength and precision of Turnbull’s craftsmanship.

For the wordmark, I selected a robust, slightly serifed typeface with custom spacing to emphasize structure and heritage. The pairing with the bull icon strikes a balance between refinement and boldness.

The accompanying product catalogue uses a clean, grid-based layout with strong typography and high-contrast spacing. It presents technical details and restored pieces in a way that is both readable and elegant—supporting Turnbull’s legacy of excellence through considered visual design.
